Every once in a while a bright light bulb appears above your head, out of the seemingly nowhere. Then you jump out of your seat, race to your laptop and your fingers begin hitting those familiar black keys in a rapid succession. Characters are born and lives take unexpected twists, as your magic fingers bring them to life.

This is the place where the shadows of characters gain flesh, where plots and conflicts are stirred up in a large cauldron and herbs of dialogue, description and imagery are sprinkled to achieve the finest flavour.

I am a short story writer, poet and novelist, with two self-published novels. Currently I am working on a thriller, after I have recently completed writing my fantasy novel. Simultaneously, I either write a piece of flash fiction or a poem every day, to keep my imagination sharp and going. Check out my website to read more about me and my books!

I hope you enjoy this blog! Please feel free to like, comment and follow my writing.

Hi Felicia. It’s lovely to know a little about you and your writing. You certainly started at a young age. Well done with that! I did the opposite and left it far too late to start writing my first book. It’s also good to see you do some flash fiction challenges. I used to do several a week, but since last Christmas have hardly done any because of my writing – plus many trips away from home. Lol I’ve just started trying to fit one or two in again and I’ll look forward to reading more of yours. Best of luck with your latest fantasy novel. Millie

Hi Millie! Thanks for checking out my page. Better late than never to start writing your first book ;) It definitely gave me lots of practice to start writing at a young age, but at the same time it’s much harder to be taken seriously. Looking back, I see the flaws in my writing too, but at the time it felt like the best piece of writing I had ever done.
I love doing flash fiction challenges. I think it’s a great way to stay in shape with your writing. And when the going gets rough with your novel, you still make some progress by writing flash fiction. Often I realise afterwards that, hey, it’s not that big a deal – I can still write a story after all! I hope you get around to writing some more challenges – I’ll look forward to reading some of yours too!
Wishing you lots of luck for your writing,
      Felicia

Thanks! Writing can be quite daunting sometimes, but I think the exciting part of that overrules it more often than not. I hope I’m making you as excited about writing as I am! :)
